All students are encouraged to develop an interest in and participate in the wide range of activities, which take place outside the normal timetable.

There is an extensive programme of educational journeys, outdoor and adventurous activities and field trips. All trips are aimed at broadening students knowledge and social needs. Year 7 students have the opportunity each year to travel to the Alsace region of France or to Cologne in Germany.

The Physical Education Department run a wide range of sporting activities both recreational and competitive. Clubs take place at lunch times and after school and all students are encouraged to attend. Details on notice boards in the PE area.

Music and Drama play an important part in school life. The school has staged successful productions of Fame (2002), Grease (2003), Peter Pan (2004) and more recently Little Shop of Horrors and Return to the Forbidden Planet.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award Club is thriving, with over 40 students currently working towards their Bronze Award. Students meet each Wednesday evening to work on their personal achievement, service and physical recreation.

St Peter’s supports students to raise money through charity work. The schools annual charity event ‘Pete’s Week’ is organised by the Sixth Form students and all students are encouraged to participate.

To assist students who stay after school for clubs and activities, a late bus runs each Monday, Tuesday, Thursday leaving at 4.30pm and each Wednesday leaving at 3.10pm. There is only one late bus so journey times will vary.
