Attendance & Punctuality |
To attend on all School days unless absence is unavoidable. To register punctually at the beginning of the day and for all lessons. To communicate known absences in advance to the School. To sign out as required if leaving the School with the appropriate permission. |
To encourage high levels of attendance and punctuality. To inform parents/carers of any concerns in this area. To contact home if there is an unexplained absence. To treat persistent lateness/truancy very seriously and take appropriate action. |
To ensure student leaves home with sufficient time to arrive at School punctually. To provide notes on the student’s return to School following all absences. To contact the School on the first day of a student’s absence. |
| Uniform |
To wear correct School uniform appropriately at all times, including to and from School. |
To encourage high standards of dress and appearance. To inform parents/carers of any problems in this area. To take appropriate action where the School dress code is breached. |
To support the School in ensuring that the appropriate uniform is worn correctly, including to and from School. To purchase uniform as per the uniform requirements |
| Books & Equipment |
To ensure that all the correct books and equipment are brought to School and taken to the appropriate lessons. |
To employ regular checks of books and equipment and inform parents of any problems. To encourage students to be well organised and to apply appropriate rewards/sanctions. |
To ensure the student has the basic equipment as outlined in the School handbook and an appropriate bag, which complies with the School uniform code. |
| Conduct |
To follow the School Code of Conduct at all times, including to and from School. To take an active part in School life in its widest sense, making the most of such opportunities as Year/School Council |
To promote the School Code of Conduct by example. To encourage high standards of behaviour through the system of rewards and sanctions. To liaise with parents/carers regarding concerns. |
To ensure the student abides by the School Code of Conduct. To support the School in maintaining the highest standards of discipline. |
| Work |
To ensure all work set is completed to the highest standard possible. To seek help from the relevant staff when the work set is not understood. To record homework accurately and complete it on time/to the highest standard possible. |
To ensure students are given well prepared work, relevant to their needs and ability. To encourage high standards and provide parents/carers with reports concerning progress. To ensure homework is set according to the homework timetable and reflects student ability. |
To encourage students in their work and take an active interest in their progress and achievements. To take an active role in the student monitoring and tracking programme. To monitor and sign the Student Planner weekly. To avoid family holidays during term time. |
| Communication |
To ensure all letters and communications between home and School are delivered. |
To communicate regularly with parents/carers on all aspects of School life. To provide at least 24 hours notice prior to an after School detention. To provide opportunities for individual consultation through Academic Review Days. |
To attend relevant Academic Review meetings and return Home/School communications as requested. |
